your tank size depends on how much water you use a day
i would save your 1500, and go diy its not complicated, lots of second hand stuff here and ebay
you will need ro/di, do your research on the ro look for cost of filters water rejection rate
i put together wfp system for under 500, there are 250ltr systems on ebay for around 700

Local welder can make up a tank frame, I did this on my second van system.

Do you have space at home ? the reason I ask is because a static system is a simple option for making the water. I have both van mount and staic, I never use the van mount anymore

do not, i repeat do not buy a system you will save youself a grand, its so easy, just use the search function and ask questions, you will get all the answers
how much water will you use a day?? i do roughly 10 jobs  got a 250ltr tank more than enough.
ask what ro you should get.
ask what di vessel you should get.
ask what pump you should get.
there are lots of advice given here

This might be a bit of a silly suggestion but I know a guy who imports a bunch of diving kit. Lately he's been importing some RO equipment and things. Check out ebay for beechcroft diving. Probably best to search for "Redhat" under BCD's and you'll find him. John is his name, Pumps, variflows, poles, trolley systems. All sorts of kit and a fraction of the price.

(also; HIP & EPC provider but with this climate.....)

It is best to do both up and downs, why would you spend all that money to use a blade? Plus the customers would think it's not all that cracked up to be.

400l will do you well for Domestic work, you can work the whole day with it no problem.

Have to agree...400litres for domestic is fine...you could always carry alittle more in 25l containers or make your 4040 system mobile...so design it so when you do get those mega, mega jobs you can put your 4040 system in the van for the day and make water during your lunch break...

Cheers
Dave.
