Yeah plus that suns getting ready to come out now. I'd rather be out with a hand full of leaflets than sat by the telephone sulking.
Your website is still not working  :o

I know its really annoying me. I spoke to the website designers the other day and he said my hosting was down so I paid him and I'm still waiting. I'm going to go in and moan again on Monday because the leaflets I distributed have the addy on them.

I agree referrals are by far the best way to pick up new work. Door knocking is also a great way to pick up work but I really didn't enjoy it myself. I find that if you leaflet then you van turns up in the area then you phone starts

As a rule of thumb, in an compact estate, it'll take you one-hour to push 100 leaflets through their letter boxes.

You can find guys who'll deliver them for you, along with other leaflets, for around £5.00 per hundred leaflets.

ive had someone do it for £30 per 1000.
One guy has even said £20 per 1000!
Bargain in my opinion

Ive got a girl at the moment delivering £20 pe 1000 - bargain I agree. Perhaps the leaflets will start kicking in once Februarys out of the way. I think when it gets to March/April people start thinking about the appearance of their homes more. I dont like door knowcking either, trouble is I talk too much and just will not give up, still I get a good persentage of those I manage to speak to  ha! ha!

I had 10000 leaflets printed (and delivered  ;D )
and I have done very well from them. Leaflet reply custys are far more reliable than door knocker custys.

I reckon each leaflet delivered when including recommends , the next door neighbour watching you clean, relatives etc,  domestic self employed customers with commercial premises as well (I have had 3 of these, not all big but OK) for u to clean as well,  is worth a good amount. You can break it down to so much a delivererd  leaflet earnings  p.a.

I paid £35 per 1000, but that works out at about 3.50 an hour, so not bad :)

Seriously guys, I keep banging the drum of the 'put in window' style leaflet, it is just so much better than the 'ring me when you can be bothered' leaflet. I have had about 14000 delivered in my area and have had 300 customers from it. I have lost 100 in the last year so all told 14000 got me 400 which is about 3 in 100. 6 hours leafletting in january has got me 21 new customers so far.

Leaflets can result in calls years later. I tried branching out into gardening, well more precisely grass cutting, a few years ago. It wasn't the greatest success but in the process I had a few thousand leaflets printed and delivered.
Those leaflets resulted in phone calls for years and some of them miles away from where I delivered them.

I have always favoured leaflets, you can have a blitz and deliver many hundreds in a day. If you keep delivering you have to get the business you want.

My whole business has been built leaflets.

This year i will be having 60 - 100k going out for windows and conservatory cleaning. You have to look at the big picture.

My minimum is £12.50....If i get a response of 0.125%, which has been my worse its paid WELL!!

Do your maths....0.125% of 20,000 = 25

25 x 12.5 = 312.5 x 13 cleans per year =  £4062.

That has cost me £797 to get that work!!!

Plus more will come in over the months.

Compare that next to yell.com yellow pages etc.

Horses for courses, but works for me!!!

do you repeat areas, theres 44,000 propertys in my area but id say id only want my leaflet to drop on about 15,000 of those propertys, so i go out my area 20 mile radius and do certain areas, id say ill repear areas every 3 months and maybe with a different design leaflet.

The best way to do leaflets in my opinion is deliver them then the week after knock the doors where you've posted them. This way custie will remember having had the leaflet plus they'll see the face thats providing the service. Then its a case of whether your face fits or not if you get the business or not.

I also use this type of leaflet and i get a good return on it.
I don't mass leaflet though, i cherry pick clusters or single properties in rural areas. But i have normally got 10%+ returns.
I have also used another leaflet which didn't say 'leave in window' and this was more 1% return, if that.
Much easier for them to leave it in the window. I also headline my leaflet using red type because it is easier to spot when driving past in the van.  ;D

Have you got one i can take some ideas from for my own leaflet??

I think i am going to try this on a week before my slowest work week as a way to get some extra work  :)
