4040 is the best, but then a merlin, then a 300gpd

i would recomend a 300gpd in harder water areas!  if you have a tds less than 220 i would recomend a merlin. much faster water production out of a merlin system

I few years ago I was advised by Pure Freedom to get a 300 gpd rather than a 720 gpd merlin,I am in a hard water area and my TDS is 250,the merlin would produce water quicker than the 300gpd but I would use alot more resin with the merlin and my preasure is 35-40 psi.

you need to concider the following, filter costs and water rejection rate if you are on a meter, merlin has a high rejection and expensive filters but production rate is good,  4040 best option

i think slash is a bit confused with resin usage, the resin usage depends on the output tds of the filters....
example
merlin output tds 004
300     output tds 005

then the 300 would use more resin

Merlins (like many RO's) don't work well in low pressure area's. You can get low pressure membranes for 4040's,.. not for merlins though.

It depends how much water you need.
I had a merlin my psi is 45 and it produced a lot of water all at 66ppm, I used loads of resin.
I now use a 300 gpd. It makes 1000 litres a day @ 8ppm, with a booster pump. I have 2 x 1000 litre tanks for storage and that's enough for two vans, if ran 24/7.
If I needed more I would use a 4040.

can produce more water quicker is the main benifit, water pressure , I hear from a lot of people how long it takes them to make water, I have had a merlin i sold it, I have had a 300gpd i sold that aswell, I give my opinion on what I have found m8. I started out with a 4040 but got the others to see.
