Hi all, first post for me. Hav'nt done any window cleaning for over 10 years now, previous to this i had my own w/c biz for 14 years. Recently ive been giving it some thought on going back into it. Dont know if this might be a good time mind you as the credit crunch is biting in. Thing i really want to know off you guys n gals is how do these wfp get heavy bird droppings off the windows and flys poo too? Also what if you cant park outside your customers house and you have had to park up 100 yards away, how do you get these wfp to work then? Cheers in advance

Two very good points

1. scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub, have a rest. scrub, scrub, leave it & come back to it last. scrub, scrub, you may get lucky! that's for the real bad stuff. I've had a few that wouldn't come off at all & had to be scraped off. Normaly though a good scrub will sort it.

2. That sinario is a problem, public footpaths with your trip hazard all over it :o you could put signs up & hope for the best, the job would REALY have to be worth it though.

I've never had to park a 100 yards away, still 100meters of hose goes a long way.

As for the bird poo, it's pretty okay really, haven't had any problems with it in the 8 months I've been doing it. Most of the time it comes straight off with a couple of scrubs, same with fly poo. The yellow stuff on the window takes more work, I think it's Bee poo, still comes off though.

You could use a trolley system, rather than a van mount.
That solves the problem of trailing hoses. Having said that its knackering carrying trolley with 25 litre drums of water on it  all day long.

In the part of London where I grew up we had an outside toilet just up the road, you might have heard out it, it was called Highbury. ;D

Thanks for the info folks, seems i have a little fear about the wfp system but i have also seen all the youtube clips and most windies seem to rate it highly. I think if i do finaly decided to get back into the w/c game i would prefer to buy a up and running business, i remember all that nasty canvassing in the 80s i had to do  :-\So if anyone out there has a window cleaning business for sale in the Bristol area please pm me
