« on: February 04, 2009, 08:33:50 pm »

i connected up the sub pump and the pipe and the power lead

ive connected a hose pipe to the screw in outlet as i still plan to use the cart and sub pump water into it ( for the time being )

Ive been taking pics and keeping a record of the times its taken

i am happy with it, its 5 tonne ratchet strapped in and bolted though the chassis rails

i got them local to me, as i knew they had them, look at Yell for local FIXING shops

you need to drill the holes and measure how long they need to be, mine were 130 mm

i then put washers on them and then some Sqaure washer / plates

they have them on ebay, just search this number 330301168673

i was advised by some1 who builds race cars, with  roll cages etc ( i know not a expert in tank fitting, but some1 who understand forces and the like, its his full time job ), he told me the gauge of the EYE bolts i have used aswell ( you will see from the pics what i have done ) that the 8.8 tensile steel might not be upto the job, you can get 10.something and 14.9 , he said 12.9 would be fine, though i am on the look out for some 14.9, its only a 10 min job to change them

i know its not crash tested etc etc, but i am happy with it

matt if you can find out if high grade Stainless Steel (A2 & A4) bolts are suitable for securing tanks then i have pleanty of them and dont mind sending some to you. Just find out which size(s) you require and let me know.

You need high tensile steel bolts that will stretch instead of shear, normal bolts won't do.

yeah mate i know what you mean but from what im led to believe SS is a far superior metal than that of steel, i know that tensile steel will "stretch" ever so slightly before shearing but i would think that the shear point of SS would be similar to that of tensile steel and SS doesnt rust ever. I dont want anything in return for these parts (just trying to help)  pay the postage and there yours.

If not suitable then fine, just trying to save you some cash
