unger ergotec pouches
« on: February 04, 2009, 10:19:13 am »
hi , im new to this forum and have a question!   i have a small traditional windowcleaning round , and have had for 5 years or so , and have just spent my xmas tip money on some new tools . i bought two pouches and belt -the unger ergotec stuff , now these pouches were advertised as "waterproof" but they're not ! the pouch i use for a sill cloth and squeegees soaks thru in an hour!and soaks my leg!
unger uk said to send back to the supplier(an ebay shop) for replacement , but the shop say they will only refund the pouches but this would leave me with a useless belt !(as it doesn't fit my old pouches) can anyone recomend pouches that are really waterproof please ?or advise if their unger pouches are really waterproof ?
    thanks in advance kev

hi chris , seriously , are they really waterproof ? like do you use one to keep sill cloths and your squeegee in??? and does the water not soak through ? i ask because im trying to work out if theres two different versions of these pouches ! i did read somewhere on the internet that someone had the trouble im having with mine and recieved real waterproof ones when he sent them back . mine aren't fit for purpose and id prefer them to be replaced not refunded but need to find out if unger made dodgy pouches first . ive told unger that i'll be complaining to the trading standards about them !

I put my squeegee and mop in a BOAB but wet cloths in the unger pouches are fine. Never got a wet leg yet.

the unger ergotec pouch will keep your wet (sill) cloth apart from your scrim. and you can keep your scraper blades or a spare rubber in the pocket. you cant saturate an applicator and put it in your pouch; the pouch is meant to hold a dry/semi dry cloth and a moderatly wet cloth, not to have water sloshing about in it. the unger ergotec pouch also needs the padded belt (ergotec) for it to wear properly. a BOAB is like a plastic holster that hangs on a belt and holds your applicator and squedgee while you work. (i use the ettore BOAB and it helps even when you are not on a ladder).
traditional cleaner, shop windows and some pubs.

Bucket On A Belt.

I think the ergo pouches are way too big & heavy, clumbsy things they are. same with the belt.
