Writing this week off....

Just taken Mrs K to work (thank God one of us is earning!). It's a 3 mile drive and skidded twice on the ice. No way I'm going up ladders in this so have decided to resign myself to taking an early Easter break and start afresh next Monday when hopefully things will be a bit more conducive to trad window cleaning.
Having just lashed out £££s to IR this comes at a bad time for me
...what a poxy job!!!

Hopefully newbies will take note of this thread, price right, save for periods like this and realise the job is not a constant £hundreds a day. Lack of cash flow is the biggest killer of businesses.

yup can,t see much getting done this week, the paths are all frozen over and hazardous and the customer will not really be expecting to see you in these conditions...best day seems to be saturday.

if you did work with all the ice/snow still around most peoples houses and had a fall would it really be worth the 6/8 weeks off with a broken arm? although i feel guilty not being out there self preservation says no so off out window shopping with the enemy as shes home coz the schools shut

I have managed to work all week no problem, then had a call from the little ones school this morning, closing because the water was off. Its my Mrs's collage day, so I had to pack in 9.30 and drive 30 miles home. Another £100 plus down the pan.

It's been okay in Plymouth, a little snow on Monday and Tuesday and bloody cold, but that's about it. It rained this morning but it's dry at the moment.
I've worked fine, just wrapped up and the neoprene gloves never came off; they're a God send!!
I wouldn't fancy having to dunk my hands in a bucket of water all day though; WFP has definately made me soft

Cleaned the windows on 2 pubs Monday morning, 2 pubs Tuesday morning and 3 pubs Today (Wednesday), so i am not scared of a little snow or the cold but there was no ladder work on any of these jobs.
Had other work to do but i won't be using ladders in this weather
How can people use a ladders in weather like this.
Have they not heard of

I've worked the last two saturdays due to the weather. This has taken the pressure off this week, thus I'm sorted. Just plan ahead and get out at the weekends, it keeps the old stress at bay.

won't lie could have done no trad today, but now I have the WFP got 4 hr work (after defrosted
) and did what would have been full day trad.
i still feel there is a place for trad, but wish I'd got WFP before landing on my head.
