Transport Options
« on: January 25, 2009, 04:58:57 pm »
Obviously i'd like to start with a transit or the like, but as i'm strapped (not in a fun way) for cash at the moment, i might not get to be so fussy.

There are a few options available:  estate car, Astra style van, jeep or the standard transit size van.  Are any of these particularly problematic?

I'm selling my bike (2007 supermoto, 2000mls) for this, so i'll be restricted to what i get, probably around £1350 (i hope). Might not get much for that amount, but its better than walking.

Are you trad or wfp or both?
If wfp dont bother with an estate car or astra van i used an astra van and it was difficult to use wfp great for trad but too small for wfp
Why not try a Scudo/Expert size van great size for fitting all wfp equipment in and not too high for ladders although not ideal if you work only trad
I now have a Transit and it has loads of space for carrying extras so it all depends what you are needing it for really
Have i made that any clearer?  ;)

Yeah thanks, clear as mud (joke) !!

No, no you have; thanks for that.

I think i'll be mainly traditional, but the draw of the WFPS would certainly open up a few other options. I suppose the best bet is to go for an option that would allow for both Trad & WFP, just need to look about. At the end of the day it comes down to what i can get for what i have. So only time will tell.

:o Bubble-car, squeegee and bucket it is - lol  :P

If you know what your looking at then go down the auctions when their selling off commercials, i just bought a 03 transit van from car auction, but there were smaller things like ex royal mail 2004 vaux combo's going for £1500
