Council registration (One for the Scottish)

I've heard that Scottish W/C's need to be council registered; what is the deal with that?
Being the council there will obviously be a cost (inflated) any ideas what it is and what the procedure / requirement is for registration (Highland / Moray Councils).

Try slwcn.org - loads of info there.
I'm about as far away from Scotland as you can get, but I have seen a few posts about it.

Thanks, i dropped them a line; waiting for reply now.
Looks from their site that Highland has a licence scheme but Moray doesn't; waiting to have that confirmed. Might be £260 (approx) for 3yrs for both areas; which is fine by me. Best to keep in the right side of the council / law eh.
Yeah you are a bit further south aint you - lol.

You will need to get public liability insurance first as they wont issue a licence without it but definately get yourself licenced Doug at slwcn is doing alot of work raising awareness of this

Oh trust me, i'm a firm believer in insurance; that's one thing that will be full belt and braces.
If there is a registration process in place i will be part of it, that's for sure. No point cutting corners that can come back and bite you firmly in the ass at a later stage (with a fine). I'd much rather be official and not have to skulk around in the bushes like a cowboy (do cowboys skulk in bushes?).
