70 odd quid for 1million with AXA, includes damage to property being worked on BUT that has a 500 excess where for anything else it's just 100.

Not bad that Tony. best i've found is £122 for two million plus items worked on but no mention of excess yet. If i want my trailer and generator covered it's another £220.
Lots of small print to sift through....... does me in. ::)

Forgive me if im wrong but your trailer if connected to a tow bar will be covered by your motor insurance , so why pay £220 more ?

Nope, that covers you for 3rd party damage... not actual damage/theft to your trailer, you need seperate cover for that - same as anything you pull along ie caravan.

Has anyone tried the Fed's insurance?

Bit more pricey than your average but if your a member with the fed you get discount.
