Red Nose Day (Revisited)!!!!!
« on: March 14, 2005, 06:52:27 pm »
I've just had a look to see if there were any updates on what people had been upto on Red Nose Day; on the original thread; only to find out you lot started a fight (without me for a change) and the topic got locked!

Naughty, naughty!

Anyway, some of those videos on Red Nose Day really made me want to cry.

Did anyone do anything worthy of note?

Keep giving your dosh you tightwads!

Duke

Jesus tells the parable of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). The first theme is this parable is that if we do not use our means to do good and show charity to our neighbor in this world, we shall stand condemned, according to St. Cyril (Luke 16:22).

Duke,

carefull mate; you're treading on very thin ice.

It's a game of three halves!

Hi there! ;D

Further to my posting on other thread mentioned by chepstow, I managed to raise over £150 :o!
As I'm just starting out, I was quite impressed by that, I managed to get myself over 20 new customers in less than a week.
Have not been canvassing for long, but thanks to the advice on this forum, biting the bullet, and going and knocking on doors has really worked, AND I've made some money for 'charidy' into the bargain! ;D

Actually.....and being serious for a minute...(not like me...born comedian)...The organisation I belong to, the BOF mcc....give quite a lot to charity. We don't do it for a week or two a year....we do it 52 weeks a year, and raise thousands for our local kids cancer hospice. We don't make a big deal of it, we just get on with it...and to that end , I'm proud to be a Member. You should see the kid's faces when we turn up and give them a spin round the block on our bikes...and then there's the usual local radio stuff and local paper photographs of us presenting giant sized cheques to them......see...I do have a caring side.. :)
