Am I right in thinking.....

am i right in thinking that the Merlin RO's produce water at near tap rate or have i read wrong somewhere????   and are merlin's better than RO man?

I believe that merlins have about an 80% rejection ratio.  So that would mean off of tap pressure you have only about 20% flow.  Of course this will change depending on how good the pressure is.

4040's can be set to reject only 50% at good pressure. So half tap flow.  DI only would get near tap flow rate.  Or a 4040 on a booster pump would get near it.

I've a merlin and it produces water @ 1 litre in a minute and 36 seconds. My water pressure is rubbish though, 30psi MAX,.. sometimes it drops to 20psi!
The rejection rate is high though, prob about 70% with my tap pressure,... but I'm not on a meter!! :)

my merlin produces at 8-12ppm at 60-80psi but i'd guess 25ppm ish is more like the norm depending on your pressure/tap tds.

lots of waste water, 1 part pure to 4 or 5 parts waste
