I personally don't believe in buying new, not considering the nature of the joe , carting ladders around ,in and out of farmyards etc, a new vehicle will not make me any more money , just cost me more. Fair enough you could say in theory a newer van will be less likely to cause problems than an older 1 but thats not always the case.
Years ago my grandad and uncle both bought identical brand new cars on the same day from the same garage, one car was no trouble at all , the other was nothing but trouble , in and out of the garage from the 1st week, eventually my grandad sold it back to the garage and bought a cheap runabout car for a few hundred quid and had no bother at all, ran it for years, until he died. My dad had a business that required a van, his 1st one cost £350, and he ran it to the ground, followed by 2 further vans the same . His last van cost nearly 2grand and was nowt but bother from day 1.
