cleaning silicon off windows

hi guys have many winndows to do with silicon over them in your opinon whats best to femove it some one said to me you can get a special silicon remover im wfp have cleaned the windows in and out alllready and they have come up ok apart from the silicon any ideas welcome thanks   marc

allready tried that and there is still lots on there i was going to put white spirt on it if i cant get a cilicon cleaner un less everyone on here says dont

pass the job backto whoever, its will take you ages unless its a new watersoluble silicon.
get some cornflourbaby talc  and 000 wire wool dip the wire wool in the dry  cornflour and scrub.

I have the same problem doing a builder's clean. Can anyone else advise ??

I was recommended this ?? Anyone tried it ??

Oil-Flo is good stuff. I would use some talcum powder and steel wool.

Oil flo is good for removing glue etc but it wouldnt work at all on the silicon i had. The large 3ftx18"panes took about 20min each but there were lots of silicon marks- messy builders  :'(

Oh dear !! . . I have the other half of the building to do next month and was hoping for an easier time !!

wouldn't steel wool scratch the glass ??

Not if you use fine triple zero or 0000 guage, its on the packet. Wont scratch glass but makes a mess of plastic or viynl
