Have you thought of bringing out a product that repairs a broken pole, instead of the customer having to buy a new one?

My idea would be if you could make a carbon fibre mini pole (shunt), that is about 7 or 8 inches long, both ends are tapered so they can fit all the sections on your super light pole.

If you snap your pole, all you do is you incert the mini pole (shunt) into both ends of the broken pole and it should be strong enough to carry on working at any height.

It is a good idea. The only problem would be if the sections have different taper angles and diameters. The top section has a different taper angle to the others and the top 6 sections have different internal diameters. I may talk to someone about the idea though and see if there is a one size fits all solution.

Would have to have incremental 3-6" sections that you cut and fit- thats if you know the taper, the whole thing might end up being 4ft long  prettly sure  esselle has it covered, if its do-able.

I Like the X-Tels, but they really dont last long enough,even if they are one of the cheaper poles on the market.... 21ft and over£100 with vat and delivery... is still a heck of a lot of money for a tool that barely last a year in my book,...its a good idea... the tapered "shunt" bits should be readily available.. and made as a spare part... like all the other bits and pieces...

I mean whats the point of buying a pole... where the clamps,  and fittings are available, yet the pole doesnt last as long as the clamps,

Have you taken a look inside the bottom ..of any section of your pole recently.... looks like a piece of chewed celery.

Theres an easier solution, that is to push the top of the section that is broken back through into the bottom half of the broken section until it goes tight.

Then a more permanent solution would to fill the space with resin glue too. And even wrap some fibre glass on the outside where they overlap.
