I  have just had to replace 2 varistreams, with ecoflows

I have read in the wiring instructions that you should wire to the pressure switch on the pump and only bypass it if it is absolutely neccessery.

Is the reason to protect the pump or the controller itself.

The Eco-Flow has been designed to work with the pump, without needing to have bits removed from it. To maintain your pump's warranty you would need to leave the pressure switch wired in, removing the pressure switch could affect your pumps warranty.

In general use the pressure switch will not activate at all as the Eco-Flow takes over this role as well as the role of regulating the flow rate. If it does activate, because of a fault, the Eco-Flow will then perform an emergency shut-down and inform you there is a problem.

The Eco-Flow also has protection circuitry that will protect itself from faulty pumps. Some other types of controllers can be damaged if a pump malfunctions whereas these models are protected.

Can the ecoflos break if you wire it the wrong way round, or has it a built in protection unlike the varistream.

I believe that they do have circuit protection.
