Just a quickie, I started out self employed in March 2008 (this year) and it is the first time I have had to fill in tax returns, I am doing it online but just wanted to be sure, for the deadline date Jan 31st 2009 is that my tax returns from 6th April 2007 to 5th April 2008

January 31 is the deadline for all monies that are due to the tax  man are paid.

I bet you're bricking it about your tax bill?

I word of advice,

Try to pay a payment on account in January, or atleast in July.

You dont have to but you will regret it if you dont.

By the time you get stung in Jan 2010 you will have gone nearly 2 yrs tax free and loving the lifestyle.

They will  then want a full years Tax + 50% of a full years tax on top. AND then in July theyll want the other 50%.

It got me first time. I didnt know what had hit me
