advise first pub job
« on: November 30, 2008, 08:43:19 pm »
doin my first pub job next week just doin the dining room with the possibility of doin the whole place later on in the year. Its a fairly new carpet small pattern. its been wet cleaned before. I personally have been sticking to micro splitters one step finline etc as have only just started. i was thinking about using prochem traffic clean as pre spray and extracting with either extractor pro or fabric fibre rinse. I have done my colour tests and burn tests that i learnt on my ncca course. Been getting good results with the one step but i am thinking something a little more commercial is required. Sorry to sound a little green but we all start some where any good chemical tips .

REGARDS

Rich

If it's sticky I would do as Mark says, the heavy duty stuff will break soils down far better providing you put it down hot and allow good dwell, if you aggitate then you'll find the rinse far easier and also the drying quicker.

Add a bit of deodoriser to get that nice smell and not the fusty beer smell and they'll know you've clean it and take turbo driers to speed dry and you'll be looked at like a king.

I think you may be surprised on how much the soiling of the carpet will bring the ph on the cleaning product towards neutral especially in pubs.

I once had a play about with the old ph paper on a contract in a pub I used to do and found that after applying a simular product (Stapro heavy duty degreaser) I think it was about ph12, the carpet was still acidic after a plain water rinse.

Hit it with Trafficlean and a good agitate then extract with Double Clean does the business
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

If its wool i would avoid Double clean unless your doing a salvage clean.
Powerburst will do all the hard work and an acid rinse will be suffice, plus you wont end up with any rapid re-soiling complaints from the customer.
