Seen it on ebay now too, seems to be okay???

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LARGE-WINDOW-CLEANING-ROUND-FOR-SALE-HAMPSHIRE-SURREY_W0QQitemZ190269397292QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_HomeGarden_CLV_Cleaning_CA?hash=item190269397292&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1298|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

But still would you lay out a years earnings ? for a grand a week work?? If its legit it would certainly save years of faffing to get a round like that

Does seem slightly over priced, if they sell the round for the average 3x the value, would only be £12,000. So the equipment is valued at £40k? Would be good to have work like that though.

In 1996 I sold my business.  I split it into 3 rounds each paying £500/week.

I sold each one for £10,000

I had people queueing up to buy one of the rounds.

Like everything else, a window cleaning business is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.  In 1996 £500 a week was a very good wage, and as it was trad work there was very little in the way of overheads.

Each one who bought one of my rounds immediately went out and started earning at the same rate as a top management job.

How much is that worth?

Just because we think 3x is ok, doesn't mean it is really. I was speaking to my accountant last week, trying to structure the busienss between myself and my wife. I had originally setup and obtained all the business but now wanted to make her a part owner. His take on it was that the business was worth 36k  and she would have to input into the company or pay me direct money to the value of whatever percentage of the business she was taking.

Another example is on some 'moving to the sun' program last week a couple was looking to buy a businessin Spain. It was an apartment maintenence business ran for the apartment owners where they were serviced and once a week the business owners would do a meet and greet on whoever would be renting the apartment for that week. The business took 30k a year for the two owners working 25 hours each a week. This business is very similar to our structure with no actual assets, just the goodwill of the apartment owners. Nobody batted an eyelid at the asking price of 60k.

We seriously underestimate ourselves and the skills required to build and maintain a successful business. A new owner can take over and be making a very good wage from day one. Look at what people are prepared to pay for franchises.

Anyone that`s going to end up earning 25k a year for laying out 50k won`t have the means to get there hands on 50k,would you honestly settle for 25k a year if you had the 50k in the first place or the means to get it.

There was a better one on ebay than that a few weeks ago £50000 for a business turning over about 25k a year! At least this one includes kit. The one I am on about was the work only!
