recentley had a van mount fitted,so I bought a sub pump from pure freedom to pump the water outout of my 1000ltr static IBC

Got the pump fitted up with the lay flat hose,goes into the garage,unscrews the lid off the top of the IBC  to drop the pump in....and the bleeder won,t fit in.

Only thing springing to mind is to cut into the top of the tank and somehow seal it,the tank has currentley 800 ltrs of pure in it.

Have any of you lads had a similar problem and what was yr solution??  the pump is a clark 1  1/4   sub pump

i got a saw, then cut 4 slots in the top,

lower sub pump in,  pass hose  and cable through lid vent ( remove it first )

put lid back on , use some silicon to seal slots

great idea...how did you stop the bits dropping into the water..put a carrier bag through the hole?

dont seall it till youv chaned your hose as that layflat is rubish i think thay hide the proper hose so you biy twice

job done!   the tanks been completley butchered but job done ...aup tommy which is the best hose to use then?

i got a 3/4 inch tricoflex try wintecs.co.uk look under hose

thay sell it in machen mart but you have to ask for it 1" or 1"1/4" or3/4"

To be honest you don't even need to seal it, mines open and the waters always 000.  Having another opening on the tank near the edge can be handy.

just cut the top on three sides big enough for pump, fold it back and then just tape it with gaffer tape. works for me and been ok for over 12 months.

thing is I only gave £30 for the IBC tank 12 month back and it was fine as I was draining water from the tap to fill barrels for a trolley system...so with a van mount I needed to drop a pump in.....small tip for anyone else who has to cut the tank..buy a small aquatic net to fish the shaings out......or another bit of advice which was offered   today was to make the cut with a hot blade or something similar!!

the lid on my van tank which is a650 ltr ibc is about half the size of the static

where did you get yours from ,

i got mine from dv fuels, it was the other way round there, 650 ltrs bigger cap ,

1000 ltr one smaller cap,

it just the luck of the darw as to wich one you get . but mines 9" . sum are 6"any way it dont mater as qick cut dus the job it dunt nead sealing . cos if youv got water in van do you thow it or put back in ibc ?and to do that youv to take pump out

Simalar to might set got 2 1000ltr ibc one on the floor with a sub pump in the one behind that is on 3 breeze blocks hire so fill that it then drops in the other. and then sub pump it into the van.
