how does everyone price up there guttervac work?

i know each job and site is different but is there a simple method to follow do u price per metre or just on how long the job takes.

if you price on how long it takes wat do u roughly charge per hour or half hour

any advice would be appreciated

i am looking at getting a gutter vac next year and was also wondering on prices
I am going to have a minimum price and then take it from there but it has to be more worthwhile than window cleaning or for me its not worth it
Going to learn on residential first and then move on to some commercial
 sorry i cant give any figures as i dont really know myself hopefully someone will post figures but i doubt it as people dont like talking figures on an open forum

im buying one on sunday ideal time i suppose to target residential with all the leaves that have dropped from the trees it will hopefully fill sum of the gaps i have in my work at mo as only have 50 odd customers as i havent tried canvassing yet. just like to know roughly wat u can expect to charge if anyone can give rough prices

personal opinion... i would say its more hassle than its worth for domestic jobs..
commercial yes ... been doing gutters all day of a ladder and the thought of setting up gutter vac.. unblocking down pipes,petrol,unblocking hoses,outlay for system..upkeep of system.new motors ,new poles.etc etc.. you would have to be charging a fair price to cover costs and to recoup your invetment..

Looked at that one but would prefer 110v as if you do any commercial work 240v need pat testing and other stuff, 110v classed as safety voltage so no mither from H&S, fine for residential though

i charge per metre - and only charge what needs doing.

Ive gone from up a ladder with a bucket to the vac (not used it yet for business only on my own property) but its the same price.

Or you could charge a per hour or per half hour with a minimum start from price like £20 as you dont want to carry the vac, hose etc around with you all the time.

240 is fine for commercial so long as your Risk Assessments are in order.

Kevin R uses a 240V machine for his commercial and has no problems. Your not likely to use them on a building site as the gutters are new and have nothing inside.. they will request 110V for H&S.

its a mixture really, per metre if easy access, per hour if awkward access, youve got to allow extra time for blocked down pipes,

e.g i had a school the other day which i priced per metre but didnt allow for awkwardness, i had to climb onto a flat roof and lift the hoover up there too,a bit of a pain and under priced

drive surgeon i used to do the driveway cleaning but sold the gear i while back found it hard work completing jobs when they wanted the driveway sealing, wat sort of jobs do you do? the guy i sold it too hasnt done much either was thinking of buying it back as an add on to my window cleaning business.

If the gutter needs emptying, you can bet the outsides and soffits, fascias etc will need cleaning too so price it well.

iam from belfast but we our trying to earn the same money with the queens head on it
