Good cause of the month
« on: November 21, 2008, 09:25:36 pm »
As it says above, each month i will post a good cause from window cleaners.

If you have a good cause and it involves a sponsorship etc, I will give you the option to have your cause highlighted for 1 month, this is a strictly first come first serve basis and it must have something to do with a window cleaner.

Each month the good cause will change unless there is nothing new on the horizon and which case your month will be extended.

This month

MR D

I dont give for a pat on the back, i give for my own satisfaction.

I now see that no one else has donated recently so will give you a boost by bringing to everyones attention.

To those who dont know mrD is running a marathon for a very good cause and is looking for sponsorship, so if its only a few quid you can spare it is better than anything.

If you feel embarrassed by giving, i know some people do including myself, you can give annonymously,

if you cant give that is fine as we all have our own charities and like to stick to them, so no one should feel any pressure to give.

All i ask is take 5 mins to look at mrD's website  www.justgiving.com/deankelly

Okay okay, I've donated; just 'cos you put pressure on me to donate; but it's only the London Marathon; it's flat and fast; no problems really, it's just 26.2 miles!?

Wor Lass churns them out on a regular basis no problems, so they can't be that tough can they?  She did the Snowdon Marathon, arguably the second toughest road marathon in Western Europe in 3hrs 40 mins; so if Mr D beats that time on the nice 'down hill one with loads of support', I'll donate another tenner!

I can drive 26.2 miles in about 20 minutes, depending on traffic; it's not that tough is it?

also 3.40 thats good going. as for down hill. lol i used to live on shooters hill within the 1st 4 miles of the route. its a very steep incline for about 2 miles making you feel ilke your 15 miles in when your only 4 miles into it. so i've been told any way.

Dean,

Sorry fella, you're right, my comment was crass and I apologise, I also can't change it, so I've donated again purely so I could apologise above my naff entry.

Sorry again, mate, good luck; it takes some discipline and strength of character to run a marathon; which is why I've never done one.

Mr D good on you for doing what you are doing,

I respect you for doing this. I know how you feel in a way,  today I got a phone call that I did not want to hear, and that was that my three old neice Summer after fighting Cancer for nearly 2 years losing her arm and being cleared 3x cemo radior therapy twice, today i was told that she now has 4 weeks to live as it has come back and is in her heart bless her, she is three years old I am numb when typing this. I have had cancer myself but I am alive. Makes you think that everything in this world is plain wrong as the scum live life illness free and the good suffer.

Ian

p.s sorry for posting this but I needed to get it off my chest, good luck on the run. ;)

why be sorry Ian. as the advert on the t.v at the moment says cancer is every where and dont care who it hurts. there are ways to protect your self from aids and other infectios desisces but cancer dont cars who it hurts. as most of my customas are eldley i'm finding out just how many people have lost to cancer or are living with the shadow over there head.

there are no words to make you feel better and 'oh al least she got to see her grandchild' feels like an insult almost like there saying its o.k fair enough. but the people at macmillan like the phone help line councle people dealing with greif and give comforting words that help. they also help those doomed to enjoy what time they have left. Elaine was able to enjoy one of her true loves while in the macmillan hospital, a glass of red wine. in the evening after dinner they bring a trolly round almost like the ose on a plaine so folk can feel normal and for a split second feel like there enjoying them selfs and not lying on there death beds.

i would love to help ian but i really dont think i'm qualafide but look at this page

http://www.macmillan.org.uk/Get_Support/GetSupport.aspx

these guys are. a very close friend of mine has a disabled from cancer father of 54 and a mother who is also riddled with it, he couldnt sleep at nite from worry about how he was gonna cope with cearing for them both as well as doing his degree but after speaking to the macmillan peoplr he felt better knowing he was not alone and there are people there with the time and money to make life easyer. in regarding you neice if there is no more treatment avalabul then you all need to stay close. be there for one another and try to remember her as being well. i know as she is so young this will be near on impossable but try to remember the happyness she brought you all and. are you religous? if so the thought that she will be pain free and looked after will bring some comfort maybe not now or even for years to come but some day.
