Latest Window Cleaning News

Linden Management (UK) Limited have contracted with Merton College to provide an NVQ 2 High Level Window Cleaning Course throughout the UK. Leading working at height consultant Andrew Willis is the trainer Merton have appointed to deliver the course.

Andrew Willis, Senior Working at Height Consultant with Time Consultancy attended Merton himself in the early 1990s. Now, on the other side of the desk, he is working in conjunction with his old college on the new NVQ2 High Level Window Cleaning Course.

Within Linden Management, Andrew is responsible for the instruction and development of new NVQ2 trainers and assessors. With over 30 years of experience in the High Level Window Cleaning and Access Industry, Andrew is eminently qualified to deliver such a course.

Mary Schramm, Head of training and development for Merton College, said: “I have known Andrew since his days as a Merton student, when he passed both the Cleaning and Science certificate and the Cleaning Services Supervision certificate. He was a BICS British Institute of Cleaning Science Assessor, and is one of the most qualified individuals currently involved in high level window cleaning. As he is also a senior auditor and working at height consultant with Time Consultancy, we are delighted to have secured his services as a trainer. The partnership between Merton and Linden Management will ensure that Andrew is involved in the growth and future development of our NVQ2.”

Within the first quarter of 2008, Linden has had over 600 High Level Window Cleaning candidates register their interest in Merton’s Course. Companies interested in the new NVQ2 will be pleased to hear that there is Government Funding available, which can be up to 100%.

as its only a NVQ2, it might just be a afternoon being told whats what and then the rest will be " on-site " as you work for yourself

I've got an NVQ 3 in Supervisory Management; it's not really worth the paper it's written on.

Doesn't NVQ stand for No Vocational Qualification?

Hey to all

My lads are all just going through it at the moment

4 days in classroom

2 days on site visits

I think it is great for window cleaners working in the commercial side of the business as window cleaners don't get enough credit for a skilled and specialist job.

Will let you know how it all goes

Hi Guys,

Just a quick post before i go to bed,

We've started this course today thanks to alot of help from Charlie from JV Price, and I must say its looking a really good and beneficial course to be on.

If you are doing a job and theres a chance to  get accredited for it then do it.

Its a great chance to take the industry forward and place it where it belongs.
