I used a small squeegee intentionally as it shows the technique in more detail.

It just occured to me Wally, that you'll probably get some guys moaning at you. What they'll say your doing is showing people recently laid off from their jobs how to do window cleaning. Most Joe Public views window cleaning trad as a skill hard to learn and now someones showing them how to do it.

you should demonstrate the technique cleaning a window at speed using the kit you would normally for that size pane.
ie soap up window 4 strokes of applicator.
blade off using 4 strokes of blade.

key to earning any money when trad is speed......  fannying around too much is what i see loads of guys do when they are working , never could understand why they dont set a high pace and get the job done either earn more money or go home earlier that way!
bad weather always looks worse through dirty windows

I can`t do with them tiny toy tools, you need a mans applicator and squeegee minimum 18",windows that small only need a microfibre cloth  ;)

I'm surprised you did'nt wash the glass away ;D,your brave doing it at the front of the house, what would the neighbours think of somebody taking almost ten minutes to do a small pane ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D,but all in all very helpful for someone starting out.

if you are worried about drips, before you use squeegee to take of soap just run your scrim over the top first this will eliminate any drip's ok

Doak -   what i would suggest is just practice, practice makes perfect,The are so many different ways to squeegee a window and all i would say is keep practicing and do it the way that feels best to you,And dont listen to other's,You will find that the majority of wc have different ways of doing it and they would all say that the way they do it is the best.
Hope this help's
