Nice little video for beginners.

Now you want to do one showing how to clean windows with applicator and squeegie at the same time.

Or if you want to be really clever do a video with a mop and squeegee in both hands and do two windows at the same time ;)

mate

as a newbie i thought it was great   nice work

can you advise on minor detailing

if i have the odd drip left i panic  because i normaly end up making a hash of the minor microfibre or scrim work

cheers ;)

Thanks. It was you and other newbies that I made it for.

The biggest learning for me was to keep a constant moderate pressure on the squeegee even when changing direction. (For ages, I was getting a line at the top right corner where I changed from going across to going down. The pressure thing eliminated that.)

I learned by doing exactly what the video showed:

stage 1 - practise cleaning the middle and sides.

stage 2 - practise cleaning the middle, sides and bottom edge.

stage 3 - practise cleaning just the top part.

stage 4 - put it all together.

Couldn't agree more: practice makes perfect.

Actually, perfect practice makes perfect. Imperfect practice leads to bad habits and inefficiencies.

I'm sure we're all looking forward to it. When will you post it?

you should demonstrate the technique cleaning a window at speed using the kit you would normally for that size pane.
ie soap up window 4 strokes of applicator.
blade off using 4 strokes of blade.

key to earning any money when trad is speed......  fannying around too much is what i see loads of guys do when they are working , never could understand why they dont set a high pace and get the job done either earn more money or go home earlier that way!

4 STROKES? you just need one big splash in the middle, or better yet wfp :)

There may well be better examples, but your use of the word "rubbish" is quite uncalled for.

Great video Wally! The newbies have to start somewhere, as someone else mentioned, these vids weren't around when we started.
8) 8) 8)
I just watched the top video listed above!
I was really impressed, I thought I knew just about everything I needed to know about blade-ing, Squeegee-ing a window... obviously not!
What's really interesting is I hardly use them anymore, but I was still fascinated!  8) 8) 8)
cheers for that karlosdaze

Credit to you Wally. Good video for beginners mate. Well done.

And for all those knocking Wallys video...funny, I don't see any of yours out there and NONE of you seem prepared to put your money where your mouths are and make a video to show how it's done properly (because you are all obviously so much better at it than Wally).

My apologies for the use of the word rubbish. To clarify i dont think your technique is very good for several reasons .
1 - Excess Fanning at the bottom of the window
  2 - To much water
  3 - To much soap.
4 - Lifting the squeegee off the window after 2 strokes (why).
  5 - Squeegee to small

Did the video really need to be so long

  Just my opinion

You obviously watched the video but you didnt listen. the extra soap and excessive fanning was done over and over again to demonstrate techniques,He obviously doesnt take this long normally.Ithink it was more intended for newbie's not experienced wc like you. ;D
