Thank you for being "true gentlemen"
« on: March 05, 2005, 04:59:12 am »
Thanks guys,

I have recieved many appreciated remarks about the rudeness shown me by some posts on the other site. ;D

I fail to see where some people think insulting someones' origins is okay???

It is about class; having it!!! 8) Do some people know or care about "class" ?Gentlemen and ladies do.

Me being female, I do realize that I am of course more sensitive because that is the way we females are.

Good thing too, since we are nurturers .  And also in fairness, I must tell you that since my son died last year, I told myself that I have been through enough crap to last 2 lifetimes so I choose to avoid some experiences instead of engaging in them.

Call it selfish on my part, but if an experience doesn't add  something I like , I just choose to not expose myself to  it if I don't have to. I do not have to  engage in unpleasant relationships and that is OK. I don't care who likes it and who doesn't.

Why? Because I can! Tough stuff if someone needs a punching bag in order to feel good about themselves. I like debates at times, but depends on subject matter, etc. It is too much work at times.  Why look at life so negatively? :P

Sorry, but the comments on my post about attitude and it's relevance to one's place in life spoke for itself. :o

Would you rather hang around with someone who appreciates life and is positive or a grump who sees the down in everything? Duh?

Men who have to puff up their chests and criticize comments must not have a very high self-esteem. :-\

Usually that is a sign of low self worth. I do not understand it, but nothing I said warrented insults about my country.

And I am hoping that one day I have a chance to visit your neck of the woods over there because I know it is very beautiful and unique.

And there are a lot of lucky women who have good men who are good husbands and fathers over there.  Most of the men I have conversed with are wonderful. And smart to be window cleaners!

Thank you for compliments.

I am a tom boy; was an athlete and cheerleader in school, and love being very prissy but at the same time athletic and think it is cool to have muscles.

I do believe in freedom of speach.

Hey, I have a vending machine in my casual dining room that dispenses beer and coke!  I just press a button, and out comes a beer! Got it at Lowes (on sale, of course; also rebate of $100). Cool, huh!

If any of you want to learn about my son that was killed, his website is bradleymcgehee.com. I am doing better in time. I am going to the boat races in Waco this year to meet the people who saw it happen and who got to him first.

We have been dodging rain a lot this week.  I am looking forward to lots of sun right around the corner. I have a very good ad in the local phone books. It has been very fruitful.

I am considering training someone to help me with estimates. I have a lady that is really good at getting accounts  and she is a bit older(52), and I think it would be right up her alley.

It is a new approach, but if I had an "operations manager", I would be able to increase my work load and she is very trustworthy and is attractive and good with people.

Just trying to think of proper pay; regular salary plus commissions? So much per estimate; so much per day based on tasks for that day?

She is also good at training others;I am hopeful that she will be able to pursue that area because I would like to have more time to go out on the lake this year and spend more time with my family. 8)

I am definately going to look into the wfp method. I will do some research into that. It sounds so much easier and safer than traditional, but we have screens to remove, etc.

Well gents, thanks again and if the weather is getting you down, hang in there and know that spring is almost here! Always looking ahead and being positive yet realistic!

I can't think of a single reason to not rejoice every morning knowing you are alive and have your own business!

This forum is by far more welcoming. Thanks again. We all have a lot in common; The few; The proud; The Window cleaners!

Bless Y'all! Love ya !

Thank you Debbie for your comments, its nice to have positive things said.

I hope you don't mind, but I've edited some of your message above because I don't really want a political argument here.  There was another reply too, (Sorry Graham) again I have removed it because here is not really the place to discuss politics, and its usually ends up in heated discussion.

However, I'm sure there are forums around to discuss this kind of stuff (there seems to be forums for everything these days!) and no doubt the members would welcome other people's point of view.

I don't know about anyone else, but I wonder how we managed before forums came along.  I wish I'd had them when I started window cleaning!  I think they're great and use about a dozen or so for all kinds of things.

Philip,

Thanks for doing such a good job! There have been enough emotions running around your forum lately.   ???

Like you said, forums are a place for discussion; not argueing about politics.

My father and I are not of the same political party.  I never talk about politics with him because what is the point?

He tries to bate me at times, but I do not take it. ;D

I am thankful that we all have the freedom to voice our opinions.  :o

Hi Debbie

Well, I'm pleased that you have not bailed out on us. I frequent the other site a lot, only because I prefer to see the names of people who post there, rather than made up ones [I cant spell the correct name, sorry!]

I can tell you though that I think some of these numb-nuts who made those comments have had a rethink, and maybe will think twice before typing stuff before their brains have thought out what they've just written!

Whatever else, keep us up to date with your info.

All the best, Doug.

I nominated her!  I hope Debbie doesn't mind.  I just thought they would like to be reminded of her. ;)

I've a couple of admirers there who follow me about the other forum.  I've a little dog who does that!

I'm the scarlett Ken Simpkin, (Tosh to my mates).

Yes exactly!  Wor Lass agrees.

But it's more of an army nick-name that just stuck.  When I arrived at my first unit, the commercial, 'Hello, Tosh, gotta Toshiba', was out (1987).

So, being Japanese (with a Geordie accent) a big hard Corporal called me 'Tosh', (Made in Japan).  It stuck, like mud.

But it was an improvement of my basic training nick names of, Banzai, Tojo, or (which I liked) 'Whey-Aye-Banzai'.

I voted for her because I like the positive view of things said brazenly and with no shame.

And the 'hugs' bit at the end of her postings.

A breath of fresh air to me during this dingy dismall winter.

All power to her............

Hi Graham

You're obviously impervious to to presence of females.

I'm not. Give me a nice female to a bloke any day.  ;D

Please note:- the  ' ;D ' makes it ok to post. Yeah?
