I know we have been expecting loads of newbie start ups, seems the last few days alot more than usual have been posting, you think??

Not to offend any, im not scared of competition my work is well established and they will be a long time getting to where i am and good luck to them, and by then others will of gone out so its all even in the end, but it is merely an observation that i have noticed alot

I agree. I found last winter tough. It was my first and the first time I ever had to work outdoors in crap weather. However, I now have a decent round that pays the mortgage and a bit over for the pleasures in life so will hopefully see many more winters out.

However, if I hadn't had the pressures of a mortgage and being the main bread earner I mignt not have kept on last winter.

noticed a few more round my area too new cars you see poping up with dodgy ladders full of paint etc obv his own domestic ladders and so on.. funny really

Started up recently still have full time job,  work 12 hours a day in quarry for fairly decent money, poor conditions. thought that W/C would be different.  doing W/C on weekends to start with untill i get enough custies to leave my full time job.

I used to work on a quarry many years ago.... it was awful conditions....

and very hard work....

I have read your posts, i only started a couple of years ago... its not easy building a customer base...

it takes hard work , dedication and lots of energy, and perseverance....

but you seem to have a good attitude....

Im not experienced enough to give a lot of advice.....

but one thing i will say is...

if you are doing weekends until  you have a round,.... do it as quickly as possible...

or will end up hating both jobs , because they will be wearing you down.. and you will be so tired, thinking you are getting nowhere fast.

i've had time to sort things out, equiptment, printers, office stuff etc these past 6 weeks cause jus had hernia op so sat at home getting ready for W/C.  got 1 custy so far two big offices 11 windows each 1foot by 6 foot plus all office partition windows + 12foot double door with windows on top inside and out to do soon

Oh right, i misunderstood ! All the best then chap mate, you will get alot of domestic quicker than commercial and you prob already know that. I am concentrating on getting to a income level with domestic that i can live on comfy in 3-4 days a week and then the spare time will try have commercial, and one offs that pay well, thats the plan

Wont take long window cleaning, just dont underprice, cant stress that enough You are better holding out for better work than filling your round with mediocre prices, you will spend years regretting it, the job is hard enough the only thing keeps me going is the spondoolies $$$ so they might as well be good

Good luck to you mate, i used to work MASSIVE hours in a foundry....keep at it
