From memory all Zire 31 come with the necessary OS installed. But please confirm.

was in pc world last night , was treating my self to an advent 4212 net book 8.9 " windows xp, so i can carry full george around with me,  

any way while i was there they were doing a palm zire (22) i think , it was a colour display for £22.97, ideal for george,

i use a zire 31 colour screen/backlight cost £100 a few years ago, for winter /dark nights

and a zire 21 mono chrome display , but easier to see in sunlight, this is used in the summer, bought this one for peanuts of ebay a while ago.

what ever pda you use for george , it needs to be running palm o/s.

will not run on pocket (windows based ) pc's

I use a Treo680 it combines the pda & phone in one less to carry (only downside no radio!)
