I have enclosed a full statement of your account as at ……………

I'm sure you must have mistakenly overlooked this but could I ask that you
give it your prompt attention now.

If payment has already been sent, please disregard this letter. If you have any

There are 5 methods to pay your bill either by:-

•   online via online bank transfer
•   online via the website, www.ladderless-window-cleaner.co.uk with debit/credit card
•   online via the website, www.ladderless-window-cleaner.co.uk with Paypal

If you want to change your method of payment please let us know. Online bank transfer is becoming very popular as its just a few clicks online.

Yours faithfully

We are writing to request settlement of what appears to be an outstanding invoice on our accounts after two unpaid window cleans.

We are sure this is an unintentional oversight on your part and therefore enclose a further copy of the invoice and ask you to confirm receipt.

If you would be as kind to send a cheque in the stamped addressed envelope provided, within seven days, as cash flow for a small business like ours is vital.

We do not collect cash after cleaning, which was advised at the time of quotation so that it avoids us from pestering you in the evening when you're half-way through dinner, or on the weekend when you're relaxing with the family.

Alternatively we offer a variety of payment methods, to cater for our customers such as Bank Transfer and Online Payments (view our website for details).

If you have recently sent payment within the last 7 days, please ignore this letter. The payment has probably crossed in the post.

We hope that you are happy with the service we provide, if we can be of further assistance to you please contact us, using the details above.

Yours Sincerely,

thats the first kind request, then the next is a advise of stopping cleaning, and advise that any further cleans would need to be pre paid or a direct debit set up, once ive found it, i will post it :D

Unfortunately we are unable to continue with our services to you, due to an outstanding invoice after two unpaid window cleans.

Although we have previously written to you to advice of an outstanding invoice as yet we haven’t received payment.

I would like to thank you for your custom over the past ? months/years. If you wish us to continue our service to you in the future we would only be too happy to return, however pre payment or direct debit payments must be made in advance of any service, including payment of any outstanding invoices.

If we can be of further assistance to you please contact us, using the contact details above.

Yours Sincerely,

LWC

RE: UNPAID INVOICE REMINDER

Dear Customer,

I note that payment for the last window cleaning service on                  , for the amount of £         has not yet been received.

I'm sure you must have mistakenly overlooked this. So that outstanding payments do not mount up without you realising, could I ask that you give it your prompt attention now.

I will be in the area on                  , and will make an attempt to collect all monies due. However if you are not available, I will leave a Stamped Self Addressed Envelope for you to send a cheque.

Alternatively I offer a variety of payment methods, such as:

•   Cheque or Cash on the day of cleaning.
•   Cheque sent via the postal system.
•   Bank Transfer which can be done via online banking, telephone banking or in person at your Bank.
•   Online via the website, www.GallowaysWindowCleaning.co.uk with Debit / Credit card via PAYPAL

Online bank transfer is becoming very popular with regular customers as it’s just a few clicks online.

If you have a regular 4 weekly window cleaning service, you may find it beneficial to pay via Direct Debit / Standing Order every month. It’s easier for you to keep track of payments, as they are made automatically and are not mounting up without you realising.

Those who pay via direct debit are also made priority cleans to ensure the clean is made the same week as the payment.

I hope that you are happy with the service I provide, if I can be of further assistance to you please contact me, using the details above.

Yours faithfully

Payment procedure a la Simon Knight:

"Oi I've cleaned yer windows and I want me dough...send it now or me and the boys will be round to ya"!

On a serious note. My attitude to late payers is: 1). They've genuinely forgotten (in which case they won't mind a reminder). or 2) They're playing silly buggers and on the basis they don't play silly buggers with gas and 'lecy (or those services soon get denied) then why play it with me? These people don't get a "polite" reminder. It seriously is "I've done the work and I need paying".  And if they don't like that attitude then tough. Also I don't bother with letters...I phone!

I've been 'fretting' over payment for an Edwardian terraced house I do (I do the whole row; every one of them); it's only £12 a month; and it's a fairly young couple, late-twenties, with two-young children; but it built up to four cleans without me getting paid, and still no cheque till a few days ago.

With the cheque, it the lady customer had written a note which went something along the lines of, 'We're really sorry for the delay in payment, thank you for the excellent service, but we're both working full time now and we keep forgetting to post the cheque.'

I don't mind if they let it build up to six cleans... as long as I get paid in the end.

I would suggest to them they pay you by standing order, goes directly into ur account then. Sell it to them if thats what you would prefer, by saying payments do not mount up without you (them) realising or incase you (them) forget to send payment off.

Not only that, more likely not to say to you to stop coming as they forget they pay you as its done automatically.

or get them to use ONLINE payments, works for me, esp professional types who are never home, they do it in work and every1 is a winner

I get "twitchy" after two cleans ... and no longer extend credit. But if it's a yummy mummy that I've cleaned for years then I might stretch to three  ;D - but that's it!
It's a game of three halves!

Same here Tosh, over the years i've got shot of any problem custys, i've plenty that only send a cheque after 2 cleans. It doesn't matter to me cause i know i will be paid.

just a note saying.

Have you forgotten me  :)

with THAT smily face.

Its a little different if they miss me again  >:(

I have to say that some of you people are a bit too relaxed about being paid ???

"I let it go 2 or 3 cleans until i expect to be paid".

Whaaaaat?

What if the customer has moved out and hasn't told you? Also a £10 clean is a £10 clean and doesn't hurt too many peoples pockets if they anti-up straightaway.

Let it go for 3 cleans and suddenly it's £30! And who knows?...the old man may have lost his job by that time and suddenly £30 is big money.

With me it's no 2nd clean until the !st is paid for.  That way the worst case scenario is a loss of perhaps £20...would hate even that, but can live with it!

I guess alot of it comes down to the round you have.

The majority of mine have been on my round for years. I have picked up alot over the last 2 years but i think nothing of dropping if there is any sign of grief or not this time rubbish.

Quite a few never send a cheque but i know they will pay when i see them so i'm happy.

Macc, I also have custys who've I done for years...almost friends.

You obviously have a trusting nature towards your custsies...which is nice! I have a more cynical approach to mine.

Aside from the milkman I'm the easiest to not pay. Now if I get knocked for £20 then OK I can suffer it and move on...but £40?...I'll fret...be awake at 2am etc!

I just don't let it build up because i know the higher it gets the more it's gonna hurt custy to stump up and therefore the less likely I'll get paid.

As i say: No 2nd clean until 1st is settled.

I've a rogue customer with £35 owed from one clean, have knocked his door phoned, and sent letters, each time he claims a cheque has been sent or some other excuse. Outstanding for two months. His service is now on hold until payment is made. When I finally get the cash I won't be doing any more for him.

Don't generaly like to drop custys, but I cant put up with this every month.
