Is 5 inches better than 7 inches?
« on: November 03, 2008, 10:33:06 pm »
I bought the 3 inch CFR handtool earlier this year and I really like it.

I understand that there are also 5" and 7" interchangeable heads. I was thinking of possibly getting both,

What do you guys think are the pros and cons of either of these adaptions? And would I also need to get new jet heads a well?

Your thought please, both positive and negative.

Thanks in anticipation.

If you do buy the 5" and 7" heads make sure that you buy the nozzles that match as the spray pattern will be wider.

Have the 5" excellent in conjunction with 3", speeds up job.

I have always used the 3" jets with 5"tool with good results, but i think you can buy 5" jets.

i also got the 3" in with mine and then later i bought the 5", the 3 has hardly seen the light of day since. the 5" is so much quicker on larger areas without losing the moverability. can't give any advice on the 7", i'm happy with my stair tool. the 3 & 5 are interchangable without needing new jet heads.

Yeah

I'm thinking a 5 but a 7 wouldn't get used much.

I think I've lost a little red o ring on mine, is it important as it doesn't seem to make any difference?

Mike, o rings just to colour code the jets instead of reading the number on the end,

I use 3" and the 5" need the 3" for ends of arms etc on upholstery. recommend both, 7" to big for upholstery imo

I use correct jets though, 95 degree for the 5" 65 for the 3

Looks like you need to get a wand glide the right size too!

I have the 3,5 and 7 inch tool cfr hand tools. The 7 inch only gets used if I am cleaning very large areas of stretch fabric walling or cleaning very water sensitive carpets on my hands and knees. This is hardly ever so I would stick with the 5 inch which gets used nearly every day.

I have the CFR 5"
Just a little too big for the end of arms of settee - probably need a 3" as well for that.
7" would be good on those long pub/club type seats.

Jim your eye's are playing tricks mate, what you thinks a Glide is really a piece of ally angle that stops the wand sliding out the van ;D

Jim I saw an old school photo of you the other day here!

Or I could be wrong !
