Hi everyone i currently use traditional methods and works fine for me,however there are the odd windows that i cant get. I was going to get a backpack but now going to just get a bigger trad pole. Can anyone advice on the best technique? I applicate the window which is the easy part but then to squeegee off is a challenge especially if you are on the ground and doing a top window. Is there any other way that anyone uses? For the sake of maybe 10 windows a month it makes sense to just get a trad pole. Any advice please :

it takes a lot of time and practice, to achieve good results with a trad pole at height, when you soap up , leave a gap at the top, place squeegee on top of glass and make ist pass down (angle squeegee slightly down so soap runs back onto part of window that is still soaped, for next pass , tap sueegee twice on un cleaned part of glass, place at top do 2 part  pulls, (pul squeegee down about 2") then complete pass all the way down, continue until all glass squeegeed. for detailing either buy an unger fixi clamp, or wrap scrim round end cone , secure with hair band,practice on your own house , you can check your reults , and then refine technique.

If it's higher if you can't do them from inside leave them.

i only use a trad pole at height now, for a few factory offices that are inside building , about 20-25 ft up, trad pole is the only way i could reach them , i do them in and out so i know i get good results, it does take longer though , and every where else i use wfp,but did awkward windows for years like that when i was trad only

i use a wagtail, it is brilliant on a pole as many on here will also tell you. simply can't be beaten. the technique is on the advanced window cleaning dvd.

true on a wider window it is easier, as for bringin down and wiping blade , it would take ages, and after wiping blade a few times , you will dull the edge on the blade , so you will leave streaks .

wot a load of rubbish, i fan with the wagtail, just as good on a pole as by hand held

Not all windows are  viable to do.
When I had a trad round I used to get housewife, trying it on,  telling me an impossible window was done by the previous window cleaner.
I used to refuse to do the window and say " He must have been an ex SAS man."
They normally smiled and we just agreed a price for the rest of the windows and that was that.
You will need to be extremely skilled in the use of a pole. Will you be paid a lot  extra?
Why not demand an extra £xxxx per awkward window, that changes their mind. A lot of the awkward windows are frosted anyway.

Defo get a ladder out pole work is fine on large commercial jobs (panes), using a trad pole on house windows with openers etc isn't great.

Thanks for advice but as for getting up a ladder not always possible and its only 10 windows per month so im sure a trad pole should be fine. As for a wagtail can anyone tell me what this is? Also what trad pole would you go for? Thanks

Where do you get the wagtail squeegee? Cant see them on window cleaning centre or warehouse? Are these definitely easier than a normal squeegee on a trad pole?

The problem is that the gear dries faster than you can blade off, especially on dry sunny days.

I've tried it many times and it doesn't work and the result looks appalling.

I believe window cleaning warehouse will start selling them very soon. Give them a call.
