so had fresh delivered - changed it - flushed it-ran it then connected back to di and got 000 produced 125 litres . switched off last night... turn tap back on bout hour ago -000  then its dropped back to 002   any ideas

Mine regularly runs at 001.

Maybe theres some chanelling, maybe the meter is dodgy, maybe its crap, I dunno.

But I also dont care now at just 001.

Matt

(I also find it can depend on what container you measure the TDS of the water in, a cup thats been sat in the shed for a week has allsorts in it and needs a thorough rinse before you test any water in it. )

Im assuming thats TDS? anything under 7 will in theory dry spotless.

I use shot glasses for measuring my TDS, usually its around 0-4

This sounds normal to me.
I use 1 of those 700ml di vessels (was 2 but can't undo the other one) and if i wanted 0 tds i would be changing it every 3 or 4 days.
I use it upto 5 now and find that i can go a couple of weeks without refilling the resin.

I would check if your riser tube is still circular, sometimes due to the pressure it can warp, so that the DI isn't working properly.

What is your TDS coming from the RO? Or are you DI only?

Buy a booster pump. That will bring the tds down to 6 or 7 ppm after the RO. DI resin will last longer too.

True, but it's not the problem. btw, we don't even know what his tap pressure is, he might not need one. Also, virgin resin does last quite a long time, and lasts a very long time if you have two DI's serially hooked up.

Back to the problem at hand, check your DI riser tube.

I would check your meter yes, at the very least replace the batteries, and get a bottle of DI water from the garage, and test that, if your meter is fine, it should be 000.

Yes, true. I'm making assumptions really.
But i reckon his water pressure isn't too good cos it is coming out of his RO at 26. Mine was 23 without a booster pump. 6-7 with a booster.
The rest of what he wrote seems similar to my situation, though i dunno what RO he has. Mine is 300gpd.

We don't even know what his TDS from tap is, if it's 500, I would say 26 is quite good.

Also, we have no idea what his RO is, if it's a 40" or a 300GPD.

Mine is a 300GPD, and I've got 100PSI after prefilters, and mine comes out at 20, in 238. I think my membranes aren't of the same quality as other purefreedom ones.

That doesn't matter right now, what matters is that your DI doesn't get it down to 0

Stig, you need to do this :

Check that the In and Out ports on the DI vessel aren't mixed up.

Check your DI riser tube and screens for warping.

Check your meter with a bottle of deionised water, if your meter is fine, it should be 000. If it isn't, it either needs the batteries replaced, or calibrated with special calibration solution.
