I,m sure you have all noticed when browsing competitors websites whether it be w/c, pressure washing or ones that have gutter cleaning ...they are all the same!

Take for example sites that are advertising guttervac if a customer checks out 3 competitors for a price he will find at least two  have the exact same wording, and even the same pictures of I presume Big Kev and his rod...come on lads lets see a little more thought and individuality going into these sites ;)

Those pics are on Omnivac's website too. As many of these gutter vac guys have an Omnivac, they just use the same pics, and take them from the Omnivac web page. Thats not uncommon at all, just like you use a company logo if you are a member.

The only way of using pics on your own website is to watermark them.. they cant be used anywhere apart from your site then.

Some of the pics on Omnivacs website are of me or from one of my larger contracts. Glyn has my full permission to use them and so does anyone else that asks Glyn or myself.

All I ask is that once your up and running with your Omnivac is to take some of your own pictures because your own pictures sell you.

I do get "particular" about this in my area especially because using my pictures to promote your company in my area is a real no no - but thats the only time I kick off.

I have much respect for people that ask to "borrow" mine, then use their own pictures once they are up and running  - I am happy to lend my pictures to anyone with enough decency  to ask  ;)

After all we do a couple of new jobs everyday so new pictures are easy for us.

I am quite suprised when the same three header shots apear all the time.

Their are probably a couple of dozen other shots on that site that  can be used without infringing Kevins rights..
Usually I say that people can only use the photographs of my guys using the guttervac and say which ones they are - usually the ones with bright orange hi-viz jackets. If they wish to use Kevins I usually email and ask if its ok with him.

What realy suprises me is on some UK window cleaning and gutter cleaning sites when clearly photographs of USA style gutters and windows are used as advertising shots- whats the point of that? I cannot see how this is a benifit as it would put customers off calling the company.

Glyn, are you going to turn that pressure washing picture round? You've got a low res picture on your site too.  :)

persoanlly id never use an action photo of someone else. Still, you can tell its not the same company as Kev's pics have his company's logo on the hi-viz! Yes i too think it would put customer off.

Its a shame the weather has tunred, as ive finally got a camera.. have to wait for the spring now for some photos.. good time to get a better website up in time for it.

I bet some firms must have a chuckle when they get the same letter from different businesses too.  ::)

Most of my photos are taken between now and March as the sky is not too bright and the sun doesn't ruin the shots, in fact most of the gutter ones were taken last october on a job were just about to do again.
