If Sealskin gloves dont work.........
« on: October 24, 2008, 08:45:49 am »
What does,?

its forecast bitter cold next week, lets have some serious suggestions of waterproof and warm gloves that work please...

there are so many people who swear by some, then someone comes on and says they are useless,

there must be a glove out there we can all use. ;D ;D

There are over a dozen different models of sealskins on the above link. I have only used the standard ones that others on here have probably used and although they are good they do not last long. Maybe some of the others maybe more durable ?

Anyone tried mixing gloves ? ie when cold workman gloves with a liner. When wet waterproof gloves over workman gloves. when cold & wet all three. for sizing just buy different sizes liner small workman med waterproof large ?
Main thing with gloves as with anything use one pair all the time and they'll soon wear out, have a pair for each day and they'll last 10 times longer.
dont look who's to blame, look how to fix it. anon

They look very similiar to the ones I have. I'd say theyre as good as theyre gonna get. Not entirely waterproof, but hey, better with the pole than a ladder.

Bought a pair of Grey thermal fleece gloves from the "Tchibo" rack at my local "Somerfields" last week for £5-90.

Got 'em for the cold really, and for general [not work], use, but when I looked at the label, at home, it said that they were also waterproof.

Tried them Wednesday and yesterday, whilst using the pole round the back of some houses that were in the shade.

Very warm, but it wasn't the worst of the weather, of course, they are not waterproof, but they seem to let in such a small amount of water, that it warmed up inside the glove, like a diving suit.

They also have a toughened patch on the palms, although I think that's for when you're driving.

See how they go when it get's colder and rougher.

Go onto the sealskinz website, the glove you want is the winter glove don`t confuse it with the winter mitten.
