lost another custy yesterday
« on: October 24, 2008, 08:26:51 am »
yup, this must be the 7th custy i've lost thx to this credit crunch :(
the house I lost was £24.50 too, nice people and good payers, I was gutted!!

On the flipside, just down the road about 1 1/2 hours later I picked up a huge bungalow, leaded windows all round and a big conservatory for £26  :P
If this happened every time I wouldnt mind losing one or two so much lol

Cleaner,

If you think these customer's are good and being genuine, why don't you suggest to them a longer cleaning frequency between cleans.

That way you'll not have lost them for good, and they still keep a regular window cleaner?

I'm on the verge of losing one of my best  :( £50 every month. 40 minutes work and a £50 bonus most years at xmas. Her fella has made(and is losing) a fortune in the properties market. Ya gotta play the game with custys like this and offer bi monthly, or drop the price. I aint got another job like this one, so yeh i'll be gutted too............

I reckon losing 7 is good going. I've lost at least 30 since all this started and I think there's more to come. I'm sure they'll be phoning me once they feel more confident of the future. I'm picking up the odd 1 or 2 but it doesn't make up for the ones lost.

Anyone suggested fronts only to keep the customers, frequency stays the same but quicker to do ? also neighbours not thinking Mrs Jones has binned her cleaner maybe i should too .

I've dome something like this for years with some of my custies when they've first become pensioners and find their finances a bit tight.

I've offered them a service whereby I clean the back and front alternately on a monthly basis and drop the price. This has worked and one or two have returned to having them all done when they got used to their new circumstances.

I actually prefer this to having them go 8 weekly

My round is a 2 monthly, reason being, I can charge more and they dont feel like there forking out alot to have it done over a year. With the poles every 2 months is fine.

Same here - All my customers are 8 weely, except for a few larger 12 weekly cleans.

well she herself is s/e and works on contracts and said she's lost loads of them in recent months and is pretty skint atm so cant afford the luxury so I said I'd keep her details and give her a knock when things pick up again, she was happy with that so I'll wait till then ;)

I lost one today don't know why just a note with the cheque.
But it's only a £10 one which i'm not worried about.

Restarted one of my old ones yesterday a £16 one who lost there job just after xmas and now back in a new job and wants windows doing again.

So i'm still £6 better off

Haven't lost one.
Picked up a few too, including a nice simple £18 next door to an existing one. :)

Maybe a case of people liking you and not thinking you're arrogant or a rip off.

I never lay down rules.
I always try to help where I can.
I don't rip people off.
I'm friendly and have time for them.

The way some people talk about their customers it's no wonder.  ::)
(not you Denis! You seem a decent bloke)

I've lost one as he was made redundant, but I'm gaining at least 2 or 3 every week, all £25+ (minimum charge) So not too worried at the moment!!  :)
