its all well and good asking for cheque payments, but if you dont recieve your cheque you still have to call and collect anyway,to me it seems pointless,

You have better chance of recieving a cheque if you ask for it.........

If you KNOW youve put an envelope through the door with an invoice and envelope asking for payment and theyre reluctant to pay, then they go on the list of custys  that are 'Ill do them if I can arsed' (or the list of custys that are binned)

However, putting an envelope through the door etc will get some payments reconciled, it DOES save going out and collecting from the ones that DO pay.

God helps thsoe who help themselves the most, no I aint a JW, its just obvious.

I collect and do the SAE thing.

I work in two estates; I collect once and if they're not in I leave an envelope.  All the work is compact, so I can just park up and walk around the houses who owe me.  Some pay straightaway, some leave it for two-or-three cleans then send the cheque.

For my rural customers, I don't collect I just leave an envelope.

I find this keeps my cash flow good and reduces collecting time.  At the moment though, I'm owed a small fortune from my commercial customers; one of the buggers hasn't paid me for three cleans and it's a fair-sized job.

I spent a couple of years trying to get people to pay by cheque.
What i found was that 3/4 will, no problem.
The rest were either holding out for me to come back and collect or they just wouldn't.
I finally got to the stage where i could dump the ones who refused.
I find that if asking for cheques to be posted and then go and collect they hold out waitng for me to collect again.
If you want to avoid collecting you need to refuse to collect, or things just go back to customers holding out.
Overall 95%+ of my customers will post a cheque without any problem.

when i started my round i had about 40 houses that were used to collecting, so i had to say to them i will not be collecting anymore and asked them to send payment. they all do now, but some took a bit longer to "train" than others.

All new customers are told from the off, so they all expect to send payment.

Richy,

How're you getting on with my old customers?  Are you still happy with the purchase? Have you trained them up to send you a cheque?

Being new to this ( 3yrs Now) i have never gone out to collect money. Only once in that time have i lost out and i kind of new i would ,they moved without telling me.But i did have there mobile and gave them a nice call just to make a point.Got promised the money but i new it was a load of ball.
Some do get behind but i don't let it go to far befor i stop cleaning and put a nice note through the door explaining why check turns up and i carry on.
This is my way of working and don't expect everyone to work the same way.

Im dont regret buying the work from you at all.

The work my mate bought didnt even get cleaned i think! He didn't bother doing them! I dont know why, strange

mine all send cheques now.... well, just aquired  some new ones and they having trouble sending them , but its only the second clean..... but they will !!

i dont call for money, i post the next card , the next clean.... which explains i dont collect, and have made things simple by arranging cheques for them to post to me,

to their benifit!!!!  ;D... and if they cant leave it with a neighbour or arrange a mutual place...
they will have to find another window cleaner, as collecting money these days is not an option.....  due me not bloody wanting to.   ;D ;D
