I would never recommend a Merlin for your needs.

Your questions are really pretty impossible to answer with real accuracy. Your water pressure will have a great effect. The Merlin WILL work at low pressure but very badly with high TDS out and horrendous waste.

Experience with customers with Merlins shows that TDS reduction is usually no better than 90% so I would expext you to get a reading of around 35 out. At that reading you will use a lot of resin. A softener would probably help.

The price difference between a merlin and a decent 40 inch RO system would very soon be reclaimed.

I also don't think that you would get any more than a year or so out of a merlins membranes at your usage and TDS.

cant answer your question but my tds was 50 from tap , approximatly 1800 to 2000 litres of pure used per week, pre filter needed changed at about 6 months you will know when it needs changed it produces water that slowly when its done

Andrews right, the merlin will be no good for you, I had one at similar tds levels to you and got 035 product 60% waste, 25 ltr of resin would last me 3 months if I was lucky.
On helpful advice ( infact I think it may even have been Andrew) I got onto Gaps Water and bought an UltraTec HF5-4040 membrane. Superior in every way, I can fill my 650 ltr tank in a little over 3 hours with a tds of about 005 now and they are easier to maintain and flush, important in a hard water area with no softener.
