Mostly when I clear gutters I am able to dispose of the waste on site or spread it on the gardens or bag it and bin it at least.

I have just got a really large contract and because its  schools they want the waste removed from site. The trouble with gutter waste is its usually very very wet and therefore transporting it is problematic due to weight.

I need a quick way of separating the water from the soil - any ideas?

dont u need a license to deal with waste removal? or is it dependant on the type of waste?

With the water from the vac, dont u have a drain hose section and use that to drain away the fluid into a drain? then take the dryish matter elsewhere?

Waste licences didnt used to hard or expensive to get, I think I was paying about £50.00 a year and that covered a couple of local authorities .
Any grass cutting/ gardening busioness requires one.
The last I heard garden waste includinfg compost was around £20.00 a ton to dump.

Get a builders bag.... The sort they use to deliver gravel or sand in. Put the waste directly in to that and the water will just run out leaving the solid behind. Then just drag it in to your trailor and take it to the local recycling centre. You can also use those little recycling bags the council give out for garden waste.

Could you not pile it up on a rough part of the grass or soil? That way the water could drain off then when you have finished pick up the drier sludge and chuck it over the nearest allotment?

It would reduce the volume but not the weight so no difference there.


Kev.... Could you not word your quote to say the gutter empty is £X but you will remove the waste for free...... There by your NOT removing the waste for profit..... As mensioned earlier ask ou local allotment committee as its good stuff that comes out of most gutters and they might be glad to take it from you.

what about getting a fabricator to knock you up a finely meshed box or cage were you could sive the poop through  something like  a whellie bin wash business would have
