TFR - is it worth it?

Had a particularly bad gutter clean to do today, very green and very dry almost baked on. Normally i would soak with tfr but today i tried a different method. I just soaked it first with water, gave it ten minutes and cleaned normally. Came off easily.

No it's not worth it.
It's just glorified washing up liquid.

Just chuck soapy water at it and leave to soak for 2 mins if in doubt.

yeah I'd agree, not that I have a hot wfp system but I can imagine this would be another benefit of Hot wfp.

i have used it in past but discovered i got same results if i just used
pure water

we,ve done loads of roofsgutterings etc. soak with pure water all round give it a couple of minutes and always get a great result. without tfr more effort with it more expense.

I was of the opinion that TFR applied in a concentrated form using a cloth gets rid of the discolouration that occurs on uPVC but is nothing special so far as grime is concerned. I think it works in a similiar way as T-Cut does on cars.

And that eCover is best  for cleaning grime off uPVC.

I looked at the guttering and thought - no way is that coming off without tfr. I'm interested to hear how you all get on. I have noticed conservatory roofs and guttering are sooo easy in the rain that i'm beginning to think tfr has no effect whatsoever other than as a degreaser.  ???

i cleaned upvc cladding yesterday badly stained , run marks etc.
tried scrubbing with pure water only crap..
tfr sprayed on for a few minutes wiped with cloth came of easy.
as for just algae if will come of with good soak..

Rubbing it with a cloth is the difference. But if you dont want to climb a ladder then TFR makes no more difference than with wfp alone.

I did one the other day with hot wfp and then the other half with TFR, then hot water. Tfr definitely eases the job and makes it quicker. I put the TFR on with a brush and pump it up under very low pressure so I can give it a good scrub at the same time then rinse off with fan jets.
