Houses cleaned
« on: October 20, 2008, 05:25:09 pm »
Ok guys...I was talking to a trad window cleaner and he told me he had 700-800 customers and cleaned around 40 a day...

No I do not want to start a WFP v trad ...poles better than yours debate...but just wondering how many houses you would do per day 5 days a week using the trad method ?

Now do not get me wrong but 40 just seems alot per day thats all.

Cheers
Dave.

I have a council round where i can do 50 in 8 good hours, but they are small!! Semi detatched, probably about 25 in 8 hours....trad that is!! :) you wanna be doing 3 semis an hr at least so thats 24 in 8 hours, but can do about 3 an a bit, with pole id imagine in 8 hours you would do more, or just finish early :)

40 semis though would be some going, and if they were priced right !! Your talking 300+ day!! Doubt it though as sole trader, maybe with someone though who was quick!

When on trad working briskly on semi ex councils close together with good access I would do 3 an hour.

The same houses with van mount wfp? 5 an hour.
It's a game of three halves!

Where I live there  are lots of terraced houses , 2 windows , 1 door at the front and 4 windows at the back ,and quick to do. If he has some of them he can clean loads per day

It is hard work, its the climbing gates that gates me, i get sick of it, its a fortnightly round and used to do it once a fortnight in one big day, but do half a day a week now!! much easier, but still growing so ill prob be back upto 50 a week soon :( mustnt grumble! money is good, but bit of  wfp nightmare and loads of gates! so i stick to trad and its knackering!

Theres no way that a window can be done every minute for 7 hours, reliably and to an acceptable standard. Not a chance.

You can do a window in a minute, but I wouldnt expect the rest of 'em to be done with any pride.

Too much bleedin' testosterone mate.

Then Mrs Smith wants to chat to you about her ailing husbands prostate cancer; and Mrs Jones wants to ask you for a gutter cleaning quote; and Mr Burns wants to pay you, but can't find his wallet, and Mrs Duffield has put an outside table and chair set right where you need to get access; so they all need moving out of the way; then returned... etc.

i do around 3 an hour for between 25 and 30 an hour wfp. i know all my customers and there problems and never get a complaint. would not swap that for 50 half done houses a day. might as well be working on a production line.
