Hi Sean,

After looking at your website you obviously will take a professional approach to bin cleaning!

You will require  specialist equipment as the bins need to be cleaned in a self-contained unit which prevents the water running on the street. (up to !20k fine from environment agency!) Suggest you also get a waste carriers licence from environment agency and a licence to dispose of your waste water.

If you operate a compact round one operator can clean 12-15 bins per hour. Check competitors pricing. We charge £2.80 or £17 for 7 4-weekly washes. More prepayments = less evening collections!

It can take some time to get business from canvassing. better to buy an existing round and develop it. Once you are operating in an area and get seen you will get more customers.

Good question , as i have just bought myself a cleaning unit
and set myself up as a bin washer this is something i have also been looking into . From speaking to other operators and from what Steve L has added ( 12 to 15 bph ) . 100 bins a day would
  be a fair  days work for 1 man . once you get up to 150 bins a day i believe it becomes a 2 man job.

Yeah thats what goes on near me, but thats how the residents would do it, or there car etc, strange you have to have a license, so what is the self contained unit, is it an add on to a vehicle??

Have a look on the environment agency websire and type bin cleaning in search box.

Van came from Spectrum.(Really wheelie clean website)

Advise you need a waste carriers licence as you end up with residual waste from the bins.

make sure you have researched market , my mate bought franchise bin washing , it was a good solid business, he remorgaged his house to buy it , 3 months later recycling bins came out he went from cleaning  90 bins to 3 bins some days

Research is v important........

Franchisors need to demonstrate a tangibile benefit ootherwise buy equioment direct like me!

Recycling should not have an adverse effect as waste bins are still dirty.

The recycling bins/crates can also be cleaned......

Grass bins in particular need cleaning. I charge extra for these.

Main difference is the rounds move to fortnightly and routes change.

First off I would check out the competition, if they are washig bins in the street then maybe be wary of starting up, The area I work in theres more cowboys and the Environemnet agency know they exist and refuses to do anything.
