I have never dealt with them or even contacted them as far as i know yet i get a phonecall tonight from some guy who must have searched the net for my name. Have they nothing better to do?

they do this quite often - its a good form of marketing.  Some guys on here don't like them but I can vouch for the quality of their gear, poles are superb and very long lasting (3years +) - others will go on about Alex G's SLX (which I got to use today - very nice but I still prefer my cobra carbon but thats my choice)

all in all I've found Brodex to be very good albeit expensive, you can haggle with them though.

This is the one thing I dont like about brodex and why I hav'nt bought anything from them, I was offered nearly 40 % off the list price of a pole and had several follow up calls once I enquired. This may sound good but I think they apply a reverse psycology so you end up thinking you've bagged a bargain, dishonest in my opinion.
A company who publishes their competitive fixed price and a good after sales record is who's gonna get my business.

i like their poles but there delivery service is shocking and for this reason i dont order from them

I ordered one of the 18 foot ali poles last tuesday from their canvassing on agreement that if it did not fit in my van,I could return it. (this is gonna be fun)
They promised delivery for last friday. Still waiting. The pole will have to be magic for me to keep it now, as I dont think it will fit in the van, or carnt be bothered to try.

Isnt that called canvassing? : : Surely they are doing what some people on this forum do. Dont get me wrong, i'm NOT keen on Brodex and by the sounds of neither are many others, you just have to look at the following thread called "BRODEX"

It is illegal if the company has had no previous contact with you. A firm can be fined a lot of money for doing so, however it only needs a very tenuous link to make it completely legal and above board. You may have had something from a firm in the past or put your name down for a competition 5 years ago etc. The phone call should always then start with a reference to the link that they have with you.

I think that it is actually good use of human resources to ring around like this as otherwise that employee may have sat at a desk waiting for a few elusive sales calls for hours. When you start paying wages you want to maximise the efficiency of that person. The great thing about buying something as a result of a tele-sale is that you have more legal rights than if you walked into a shop and bought something.

I suppose its because they have already sold me something, why bother with after sales. You guys get calls off them. I cant get them to call me even after leaving many messages!

If you look after your customers, they will come back to you. If it is true that there blue chip clients are drying up then they better sharpen up quick time to satisfy their bread and butter customers. No other wfp supplier gets this much criticism on this forum as brodex does.

One other company who use this forum however, are very humble, listen to customer feedback, do their best to address every issue, create good new products for us & continue on an informed road of constant R&D. Good for them, these are the companys we are confident in our investments with, who we trust & who we have confidence in their integrity! That's where Brodex fall well short of the mark IMO.

Most business is made by recommendation, I think from what ive read in this thread, Brodex are not a good company to deal with. 

After sales is non existant, delivery times are non existant, but they are quite willing to phone you up for sales  :

I think i will stick to companies like Gardiners for poles etc, when i do get to replace my system for a bigger one, i will be asking the respected guys here were to get it from.

Personally i think there should be a thread, which outlines all the major suppliers, and their good and bad points of business with them.
