Are there any advantages to using one type above the other for clamping hoses to fittings?

The double eared 'O' clips look to me to be a pain to remove. Do they make a better seal?

they do provide a better seal, but if you need to replace they need to be hacksawed of , only use them now on pole hose and micro as they tend to a little less bulky than jubillee clips , every where else i now us jubille clips,

one can be removed the other as you say is a pain to remove, sometimes damaging the hoses/fittings, with jubilee clips can damage the hose/fitting if a liner is not put inside I say that because I found this out the hard way. So I would say go for Jubilee clips on pipe works, pole hose I would say the o clips as they are lite.

Jubilee clips on system and o'rings on pole hose and main hose, to remove get pinchers, grip o ring and keep twisting side to side as these will only be small o rings so easily breakable.

A quick tip for removal is push a braddle (pointed end) into the ear, give a little tap with the hand do it again on the other side and it opens up. Also it can be re-used and you wont damage the fitting its holding by cutting with a saw.

If your skin is involved then o clips are much better, and you get a better seal.  If it needs regular removing though I wouldn't bother. Pirtex in Paycock road Basildon is a good place to get them.

with "o" clips, i just cut the hose off below the clip and bin it ..and replace it.

jubilee clips and o clips are good but jubilee clips are my first choice , take a look at a car enginge and see what clips are used on the pipe work , they withstand heat & pressure .

o clips do give a better seal especially when dragging hoses around , i found jubilee clips came lose.
removing them is easy if you use the pliers you fit them with and another set on the ther side, quick twist back and forth and they snap off

I never use any sort of clip on my pole hose.  As the jets are always open, there's no pressure in the pole hose - as soon as you plug it into the microbore (or whatever) the water starts coming out of the jets so there's no pressure build-up.

Not having any clips means if you need to replace the male fitting, or clear a blocked jet, you just pull the hose off.

I never have any problems doing this.
