Fire hydrant use permits
« on: October 12, 2008, 08:47:11 am »
Looking for a link to officially using fire hydrants in various areas around the country.

My understanding is that you have a metred tap and pay only for the metres of water you use but have to apply to each local authority for the permit.

Just started searching around and am not coming up with anything to point me in the right direction.

I am also very aware how heavily they come down on unofficial use of the water supply.

Has anyone got permits and or is working with hydrants on a regular basis.

Rob ;D

Rob,
We use hydrants on a regular basis, you need to contact the water board in the area you are using, most have web sites and you can download forms etc. You can use your own stand-pipe we do, but each area may differ. Allow 10 working days for the licence to be granted.
Give me a call if you need anymore info.
