Get a 45ft tucker pole you can break it down to any length.

If you're serious about this game then I would say SL-X.....it does everything you want...but it's pants at doing full engine services ;D

Brush head....new Gardiners Dual trim... very light, stiff where required but flexible enough to be able to reach those nooks and crannies.

The above items obviously cost a few quid but the purchase will re-pay you multi-fold (if thats a word).

Not sure if the pole hose diameter matters much I am sure that one of the real guru's will be along shortly and will advise you.

I would recommend HXtel Hybrid pole from Gardiners for value and ease of clamps

Why would you want a scaffold pole for window cleaning ? There are many easier to use poles out there, to start I would go for a glass fibre pole a cheap one xtel hxtel, as you will bang it knock it maybe break it ect ect, when you are used to it, alex G slx is a very nice pole, if you are having staff I would not buy carbon pole, there are a few more poles out there but to start I would not pay out a lot of money for the reasons above.

pole hose 4mm to 6mm,

Brush is personal choice, We use vikan mono rectangle brush this is the red one, vikan sill brush, this is reg and green, ionics 18inch, old super lite/bentley (dont use it is not good more so for a new wfp'er) new super lite from Alex G very nice brush very lite as the name says.
Tucker brushes have great reviews but I have not tryied one of these as yet.

We use pencil jets, am yet to use fans as pencils work fine and never had a problem with back/wind spray.

the Ron thompsom zensorflex for every day use and then add the gangsta to it for your 30ft work

you need to convert it slightly as its a fishing pole, but its the lightest you will get

i was talking to some1 today about poles, i picked up his SLX and as i currently have a hernia i noticed the weight once again ( i have said in the past its a touch heavy for my liking , but dont rule it out, but as i have the RT z-flex everything will be heavy )

i said to him i dont understand why others say its so light, he said " well if they have come from a fibreglass universal ( or similar ) its going to be lighter, if they havent tried a fishing pole, they will not understand how light a pole can be " now he uses the SLX, im sure its a great pole

we have people on here who swear by the harris pole, now dont get me wrong, a pole is a pole, i used a Unger ali pole for years, the RT is so light

give it a whirl, its 21 quid for the Z-flex and about 50 quid for the gangsta, 75 quid for a 30 ft pole

I forgot to say about the Hariis, that you can see on you tube, I did a vid about making one, do a search for channel window washers and you can watch it being made

Matt,

1) How do you extend these fishing poles?

2) Do they have clamps?

3) Or do you add a section at a time?

4) Can you have hose running inside pole?

they are modular, thus you just put 1 section ontop of the last ( i have glued the bottom 2 sections together and then the 3rd and 4th section together, with the top section being a few feel long for the downstairs windows ), thus i only have 3 sections of poles

so, no they dont have clamps ( less to go wrong )

the pole is just loose on mine, i prefere it that way, allways have

seems a bit of a pain matt,  even though you say less to go wrong, it must slow you down faffing about with putting sections together..... cant you find a way of making it telescopic?

i thought the same, intill i tried it out, i had the pole in my garage for ages, i was happy with the unger telescopic, but the time it takes to extend a tele pole is the same to just put a pole inside another
