How tall are you?
« on: February 22, 2005, 11:21:53 pm »
I'm the shortest window cleaner I know at 5' 7".

I do all the ground floor work because I am short and also because my reach is er .................. limited.

I have short arms also.

Ha!
I'm taller than you!
Well, ok, only by half an inch, and only then if measured within 10 minutes of getting up in the mornings ;D
I'm so fat I shrink to 4ft 2in by the time I've ate my breakfast :'(
Actually I'm not fat at all, it's just relaxed muscle, and there is a lot of it :o

My wife reckons its been relaxed for a long time now......sigh. :-\

Wor Lass is only 5' 1" tall.  You can see her in my avatar using an A Frame ladder to clean a cat flap.  There's not much she can do without it.

As for Big Toe being 6' 6" - jammy nit.  You won't need A Frames very much.

Well I am 6'0 and I do both ground floor and ladder work, as for the other two. One is 5'11" and will only do ground floor work. Occaisionally he uses an old crate for that extra bit height and the guy is 5'9" and again he does both ground floor and ladder work.

It's nice to know window cleaning seems to not be a tall person thing as all the window cleaners around here are taller than me.

Now having read the above, I don't feel so little or isolated.

6ft 0" exactly

But I seem to be able to reach further from the ground! Are my joints loosening up?

My Bro did a bit of w/c he's 6' 3"
So did his son, my nephew, (obviously!) 6' 2"
My mate, the black guy I mentioned in a previous post 5' 6"
It's a game of three halves!

I have always said that big things come in small packages, which is what I am; a small package. :o

I am 5 ft 2; 108 lbs, and I can carry almost every ladder I own except my 32 ft. one.  ;D

I am muscular because of window cleaning and because I think it looks great for a woman to be athletic. :-*

I have been in the business for 25 years, and have the respect of my clients; however, my size has been an issue until they see me work. :P

I have had several men tell me they would prefer working with me instead of many men they have worked with because I take work seriously. ;D

I mean, when you get to the job; do it! Breaks; only if it is a very large job.

Anyway, size may matter in some situations, but I am an expert working in small places.  :-*

Best of hugs,

Texas girl

Tell him to get some A Frames, the tightwad!

I work with Wor Lass (in the avatar) and she runs marathons for 'fun'.  She did last years London Marathon in just under four hours - which is going some.  It took Lorraine Kelly (GMTV) six hours.

She'll work all day window cleaning with me - I'm knackered - then she'll come home, consume a high energy drink and then run ten miles with her running club, after which she'll return home and wash the dishes.

Give her a set of doubles and she falls over!

Oh, she also tried getting out of work this morning, claiming her blisters and blackened toe nails were playing her up! "I can't put my foot down", she said.  Unfortunately she's used up her annual entitlement of sick leave.

Well, we both had a very productive day at work cleaning windows! ;)
