Does anyone here clean roofs on a regular basis and if so how do you remove moss etc from tiles and green algae from slate? Also does pay well?

Google "Apple Sauce roof cleaning",.. its the preferred method in the states.
They spray it from the ground or from a ladder at the edge of the roof, and use a huge amount of it. Applying with a WFP pole and brush would drastically reduce the chemicals needed and the problem with overspray.
For a slower acting solution but with the whole pet/child/eco friendly angle you could try this:
www.cgi.ebay.ie/4x5L-MOSS-KILLER-Environmentally-Friendly-Pet-Safe_W0QQitemZ330208068648QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330208068648&_trkparms=72%3A1301|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

This kind of solution normally needs 2 applications (two weeks apart), and the full results might take up to 3 months to become apparent.

I think I would rather have the moss-matic on the end of a strong pole and do it of the ground.

Those rotary surface cleaners are too heavy for the end of a 60' pole!
Also, most roof tile manufacturers specifically state in their T&C that pressure washing invalidates any warrany for their products. I've tried pressure washing roofs,.. it does actually remove the surface of the tile if you're not careful!

This is how a guy was working a few weeks ago at the back of me. Took these with mobi so not very good but omg what an idiot.

Dont know if you can really see how steep these roofs are but believe me they are very steep. Just a ladder to get on top and away he went. If you look closely they are covered in moss and algae. Talk about Risk!!!

It is our duty as British citizens to report rogue or at least very idiotic traders to the local HS council offices.

looking at the pictures he is stood on the cleaned bit whilst working plus they are tiles so not very slippy, roofers do this day in and day out if he feels safe then good on him for getting out there and working as for reporting him some people should just mind their own business and concentrate on their own work.
