I did the same thing as Mike, I "upgraded" my trolley system with hose and worked out the back of my car for a while.
I have now "upgraded" again to work out of a trailer, to save the weight on my car and the stink from leaked water.....
I basically have a lesuire battery and hozelock hosereel, onto which I have squeezed about 70M of hose. Even though it's normal hose, if you keep the water pump on when you unreel, and reel in the hose, it rarely kinks.
I can also fit 7 x 25L water containers in my trailer (it's only a small 4x3 trailer), which last me all day.
can someone tell me if it is possible to clean front and backs of houses with wfp. we are mainly residential but are thinking of moving into wfp but not sure if they would be practical with regard to doing the rear of the properties moving the car all the time
I find my trailer system a lot easier on most houses. Once you work out a different way of working (where to pull the hose too, how much you need ect), it becomes 2nd nature on return cleans.
I have one street wiht 10 houses in and moving the car isn't that much of a bind> I can usually reach 2 or 3 without moving. But the overall time saved with WFP makes it ok to move the car 20 feet (which takes 20 secs)
would a trolley be the best way to get into wfp to begin with.
Worked for me, although wasnt' long before I wanted to upgrade. Most people find they upgrade quickly...and a trolley is an easy starter system that can be upgraded easily, even to a van system.
believe me, once you start using WFP you wont look back. Take a look at this thread on another board for my thoughts when changing from Traditional to WFP about 11 months ago
http://www.another forum.co.uk/?board=wfed_poles;action=display;num=1086106661;start=0...keep meaning to do a new thread, "From Traditional Trolley WFP to Trailer System"
we have been told that the first cple of cleans with wfp are not too good due to it washing out all the detergent that is in the rubbers, and it takes up until about the 3rd clean to get rid of all this....
That's true on most, but if you give a really good clean, which can take longer first time, you will reap benefits on the follow up cleans. Scrub all the frames first time around top, bottom, sides. Then come back and do the glass as normal.
Next cleans I just clean glass and side frams and sills - no probs.
how on earth do you square this with your customers...
Each new customer gets a sheet of A4 with a few pics that detail the benefits of WFp and how it works. I give them some speel to explain, not too long to bore them but enough. Also attached to the A4 sheet (which invariably they dont read) is a small slip of paper that explains:
"Dear New Customer.
As discussed I am using a Water Fed Pole System, with Pure Water to clean your windows. (Please see attached leaflet for more information on the benefits of this). If you are at home when I clean your windows you will notice the windows are wet when I finish, but as the water has been purified, it will quickly dry clean.
As your windows have not been cleaned this way before it can take a couple of cleans to get the windows 100%, as this method will “deep clean” your glass and the windows into all the corners to remove all dirt. Existing customer feedback has proven this method to provide an all round better clean than traditional cleaning.
I also provide a 24-hour guarantee for customer satisfaction.
Thank your for your business and I aim to provide an excellent, reliable service for you in the future.

I have only ever had 2 people call me back...most are over the moon with the clean.
