hi jeff just wondered how you helped your daughter start in the world of window cleaning as my daughter who left school a few months ago wants to give it a try , did you show her trad to start with or straight to wfp , any help or advice about employing a daughter thanks jeff .

All three of my daughters started out years ago and learned trad methods first, there is only Michelle who spent the past 4/5 months with me learning all about wfp, this week is her first week going it alone, I just noticed her saying on face book saying ''Michelle is singing when I'm cleaning windows'' I recon she's got the bug lol
Take your daughter out with you, Teach her trad along with wfp, let her know (if your wfp) about the amount of trad you will be doing, I think its important to teach them this, we all do insides, but let her do as much wfp work as possible, tell her you'll be checking her work until you are happy with it, Its no reflection on them that your checking just part of the training to see how she's doing and if she gets it wrong, let her know you will explain were she's going wrong.
Give her a good wage, so she can see the potential of earnings doing wfp work, this coupled with the possibility of you getting or building a round for her to do herself, gives them one hell of a boost.
Michelle my daughter has 3 boy's all at school, she can do her work around school runs, what I'm getting at is, this will let them know, your work/business can be run around your private life and you can still earn a good wage.
My daughter has just discovered what its like being your own boss and she loves it as I'm sure your daughter will.
Teach them everything about water production i.e. Filters resin, storage and so on, H&S, setting everything up, what its for and what it does and why you do it, don't miss anything out including battery charging, poles and brush's, this gives them a complete insite of how it all works, what to do if she gets a fault or problem when she's out on her own.
If your daughter will be helping you? Introduce her to all your customers, you'll find the customers give them nothing but praise, this also helps to give them a little boost.
When you've done all the above you can then start teaching her about all the paper work
I've had 6 calls tonight from Michelle asking tax & Insurance questions, questions about customers etc, don't forget its a steep learning curve for them so be patient with them.
