Scheduling Sysytems
« on: September 18, 2008, 09:27:15 am »
Hi Guys,

I hope everyone is well.

I am looking at updating my computer software packages as they now don't do the job to the capacity that I require,as the business has really out grown them now.

I downloaded Georgesystems demo, but I did find that there were a few minor errors in it, I.e putting the wrong information on to the wrong fields.

Has anyone purchased to full edition and had any problems or issues with it?

If anyone else can come up with suggestions on software to use I would be most grateful.

I also have to update the invoicing system as I have just registered for VAT! :'(

I look forward to your suggestions.

Many Thanks

Paul Heath

We have just invested in www.thoughtfulsystems.com It takes some getting used to. You can download a demo from there site. They are very helpful only downside its from USA. It seems to be working for us and it does a lot of extra things aprt from just scheduling.

At the time the dollar was in our favour and the whole package worked out approx 600.00 which looking around at other software programs was a very good price. If you e mail them and tell them you spoke to me i'm sure Sarah will work out a good price. If your down in cornwall anytime your welcome to come and see it "live"

We use QXpress (www.qxpress.com) which automatically links to QuickBooks. I have found it very good having moved to it about 18 months ago after using ServiceCEO.

Why did we drop Service CEO?

Although a well specified system with good integration to QuickBooks, Service CEO had three big drawbacks for us:

1. The system needed a lot of information to get it running even when we didn't want to use all the functions right from the beginning. There was no easy way of "growing into the system".
2. Expensive to get modifications to screens and reports with no significant capability to do this yourself.
3. Expensive to buy and keep up to date.

Qxpress is not really cheap but it is very flexible and allows one to start with a couple of features and then add others as and when you need them.

I have used CEO for about 6 years, I have had no problems with it, and I dont find it expensive, I use it for everything, from time sheets to invoicing, payroll, monthly reports.. the list goes on.. Lesley
